From the Co-Founders of #SunWriteFun
comes a new contest with a tasty twist...
"FOOD FOR TWEETS!"
A Fiction and Non-Fiction
Twitter Pitch Contest
SWEET STORIES? SALTY STORIES?
Forget “Food for thought.” We're celebrating FOOD FOR TWEETS!
We all know kidlit authors love posting culinary hits, misses, and delicious dishes
(self-professed foodies right here!)!
Food has a way of creating a shared space and launching new conversations.
Often, the most boring, mundane, basic items can spark a great tweet thread...
and even lead to a unique story!
That brings us to...(drum roll, please!)
Whether creamy-smooth or crunchy-chunky, everyone can
agree—this “glue” holds average, plain, ol’ bread together.
But what if it is also the key ingredient that could bring your
kidlit WIP into a cohesive, tasty, and satisfying success!
So, #kidlit community—here is YOUR challenge:
WHAT: #PBPBPP (Yes, it is long--try finding a new hashtag!)
Create a genius Picture Book pitch
w/Peanut Butter as the focal point.
WHEN: Last week of January, Sun 17-Mon 26;
Winners announced shortly thereafter...
We know. We know! You've got your umami-packed idea ready to be plated!
Bonus Points if our dogs drool when
we read your pitch to them,,,
Q & A
WITH THE "CONTEST CHEFS!"
CAN YOU SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE ENTRY?
Yes, you sure can! In fact, you can submit three Fiction pitches and three NF pitches.
But remember, you’ll actually be competing against yourself!
CAN YOU WIN BOTH PRIZES?
HOW IS THIS GOING TO BE JUDGED?
Entries will be judged on three things (yes, we know--rule of 3)
Serve us a delicious idea for a story based solely on your pitch!
HOW WILL YOU ANNOUNCE WINNERS?
We'll reveal a Winner's Wall of the top 6 pitches—3 NF and 3 F. We'll also share why we chose them.
Don't forget to follow us on Twitter:
At the end of the contest, we'll post the winner of the Fiction and Non-Fiction pitches.
HMM...PRIZES, YOU SAY? WHAT CAN I WIN?
Not only have you already won just by stretching your imagination and putting yourself out there,
BUT that's not what you were really asking, is it?!
1. The best NF pitch will win a NF PB critique from Karen M. Greenwald.
2. The best F pitch will win a F PB critique from Jennifer Buchet.
Don't forget to Tweet our logo (below)! Here's how:
