Karen M. Greenwald

 

Karen is a children’s author, (non-practicing) attorney, and international award-winning brand strategist. Her debut, A VOTE FOR SUSANNA, THE FIRST WOMAN MAYOR, is a Kansas Notable Book and a Library of Congress (LOC) 2022 Great Reads from Great Places selection. It represented Kansas at the LOC’s 2022 National Book Festival. Greenwald co-founded #SunWriteFun and raises money for minority kidlit charities. Her next nonfiction book, THE MUD ANGELS-HOW STUDENTS SAVE THE CITY OF FLORENCE, launches Spring, 2024. Greenwald has won numerous prestigious international awards for STEM creative, writing, video, rebranding, and self-promotion, including a Platinum international Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award for her strategic marketing campaign for A VOTE FOR SUSANNA. Bylined credits include online, print magazines, and The Washington Post.

Karen participates in SCBWI and 12x12, is a member of the Children's Book Guild, and co-founded #SunWriteFun.

Jennifer Buchet

Jennifer Buchet is an award-winning kidlit author, former marketing guru, and super-fun pre-k educator. She's also a regular feature contributor to Cricket Media, including the social studies magazine, FACES. She is an active member of many writing communities including SCBWI, 12x12, the Writing Barn and the Children’s Book Academy. She is also the co-founder & creator of #SunWriteFun.

Jennifer's debut picture book, Little Medusa’s Hair Do-Lemma (Clear Fork Publishing) launched in 2021 to rave reviews. When she's not writing enchanting tales for kids, she might be found in a classroom sharing her joy of writing, searching for feyfolke in the woods or stirring up magic in the kitchen.

Maria Marshall

 

Maria Marshall is a children’s author, blogger, and poet passionate about making nature and reading fun for children. She’s a Cybils Awards judge and a contributing blogger for STEM Tuesday – From the Mixed-up Files of MG Authors . She interviews authors & illustrators and reviews books on -The Picture Book Buzz . Her poems are published in The Best Of Today’s Little Ditty 2017-2018, 2016, & 2014-2015 anthologies. When not writing, critiquing, or reading, she bird watches, travels the world, bakes, and hikes.

Aimée Bissonette

 

Aimée Bissonette has written many picture books for children.  She especially loves writing about nature and “everyday heroes,” people who made a difference to their families, friends, and communities and whose stories need to be told. Her most recent everyday hero book, HEADSTRONG HALLIE! The Story of Hallie Morse Daggett, the First Female “Fire Guard” was a 2022 SCBWI Crystal Kite Award winner. Aimée’s favorite place is anywhere outdoors, regardless of the season.

Songju Ma Daemicke

 

Songju Ma Daemicke, a former software engineer with Motorola, is an award-winning children’s book author. Her latest book, TU YOUYOU'S DISCOVERY - FINDING A CURE FOR MALARIA, is a finalist for the 2023 SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books. Songju’s picture book, CAO CHONG WEIGHS AN ELEPHANT, was a Best STEM book, the Winner of 2018 CALA Best Juvenile Literature, an Outstanding Science Trade book, a Notable-Social-Studies book, and a Mathical Honor Book. Her next book, OUR WORLD: CHINA, comes out from Barefoot Books in the fall of 2023.

Heather Macht

 

Heather Macht has always had a niche for storytelling. She recalls often getting scolded in elementary school for turning serious class assignments into silly stories. Since then, her writing has taken off! Macht is the author of 15 books including The Mutant Critter Sitter, a six-book chapter book series featuring #girlpower, responsibility, spliced mutant creations, and science-filled fun! (ABDO, 2024), The Woodlot Monster Mysteries, a six-book chapter book series featuring less-common monsters and promoting #girlpower, problem solving, and teamwork (ABDO, 2023), Rex the...We-Don't-Know (Pelican, 2020), The Ant Farm Escape! (Pelican, 2019), and You May Just Be a Dinosaur (Pelican, 2015).
