I really didn't intend to blog again about #SunWriteFun (until next summer...right, @Yangmommy?!). In many ways, it feels like it took place years ago--honestly, yesterday feels the same way! Was it Friday? Wednesday? Next Tuesday? You know what I mean! But in many more important ways, the contest seems to have a life of its own--and I couldn't be more proud/excited!
Let me tell you why...
"Almost overnight," the idea that started out in my kitchen had become a full-fledged reality. Ever since #SunWriteFun (and our #WNDB/indie bookstore "Bonfire Page Turn" raffle) ended in August, we have continued to see Twitter and Facebook posts mention it. How amazing!
BUT, the most spectacular comment came recently in the form of a DM. I won't reveal who sent it, but this contest participant asked us to take down their entry from the contest posts. Why? She expanded it into a book and just SIGNED WITH AN AGENT to represent it! Jenny and I are probably almost as thrilled about this news as the author is...and both want a signed copy when it is released!
This story is a great reminder--getting published is a writing journey that always requires taking a leap. You never know how far it will take you!
BUT it is also a little teaser...did you really think we could wait until summer to bring a little excitement your way?
